Health and Sanitation Procedures

Noah’s Ark Existing Health & Sanitation Practices

We  continue to follow our existing stringent health and sanitation protocols, including:

  • Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
  • Ensuring lower teacher-student classroom ratios than required by the state
  • Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys and surfaces
  • Daily sanitation of cots
  • Requiring any children with a fever to return home and stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours
  • Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
  • Continuous health & safety training, including first aid and CPR certification for all staff
  • Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of all state and CDC health codes and guidances

Enhanced Health & Sanitation Practices

During this time of specific concern, our leadership team is staying up-to-date with the latest Bright From The Start state guidelines, licensing requirements, Department of Public Health, and CDC guidelines regarding the safety and well-being of your child. With a clear appreciation of the trust you place in us, we commit to following all health and safety requirements as well as to meet or exceed the guidelines from local and state officials.

We are frequently communicating with families and staff to convey the enhanced measures in place within their school.

Depending on the circumstances and guidance by local and state officials, enhanced procedures above normal health and sanitation protocols are in place to prevent the spread of the virus, and may include:

  • Limiting the people who enter the building to parents, current staff members, and essential resource staff as directed by Bright From The Start (for example, Speech Therapists, etc)
  • Signed Covid-19 Health Screens are required from every visitor and every enrolling family
  • Continuing to practice social distance
  • Not accepting any adult or child that displays cold or flu-like symptoms
    • temperature checks for any child or individual displaying any symptom of illness
    • if a child or adult displays flu or cold-like symptoms due to seasonal allergies, we require a physician note stating the condition
  • Increased frequency of handwashing
    • handwashing at entry and every 30 minutes, displayed on all daily schedules
    • installation of lighted faucets at each hand washing sink
  • Increased sanitation of frequently touched surfaces
    • cots and all surfaces sanitized daily
    • extra sanitation and cleaning of toys throughout the day
  • Increased outdoor classroom and playtime
    • no field trips (all entertainment, and activities will be held on-site)
  • Extra fans running for improved air circulation throughout the day
  • Transportation Precautions: Hand Sanitizer and wipes to each child entering bus in AM and PM
  • All meal service in classrooms
  • Separation of ages in classrooms on divided playground areas and/ or separate playtimes
  • All play area carpets in all rooms (circle time, block play areas, etc.) have been removed and replaced with a foam mat for each child
